Howard Reed was born and bred in Macon and is committed to the community he calls home. He got his start working in the pawn business to after attending Mercer University here in Macon.
Howard spent twenty years at Arvins Pawn in downtown Macon, where he learned the ins and outs of the industry. In 2001, Howard started looking for a place to call his own. When the owner of J.D.‘s Pawn passed away, it became available, and seeing the opportunity, Howard purchased the existing property and turned it into Howards Pawn and Jewelry. It was beneficial to take over an existing business with a built-in customer base in an area with lots of walk-in traffic.
